BREAKING NEWS 2023:APC Reportedly Move To Adopted Goodluck Johnathan As Presidential Candidate

An emerging report has claimed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is trying to convince a former president, Goodluck Jonathan, to run for president on its platform in 2023.

The report which was carried by This Day claimed that some leaders of the party have been pressuring the former president to consider the offer.

The newspaper stated that a source who spoke anonymously said governors on the platform of the APC who visited Jonathan to felicitate with him on his 63 birthday anniversary, used the occasion to subtly represent their presidential proposal to him.

The report further claimed that the move to have a Jonathan presidency in 2023 is backed by Buhari’s close loyalists.

According to the claims, Buhari’s allies believe that Jonathan would be harmless to their group interest and as such the right person to take over if power were to shift to the South.

A source in Buhari’s camp who didn’t want to be identified was quoted to have said:

“He handed over power peacefully and nursed no bitterness against anyone and therefore will not be a threat to the interest of the north.

However, Jonathan has in the past denied any interest in contesting for the presidency. The former president made it clear that he was focused on his foundation.

Meanwhile, following the agitations by some geo-political zones to produce the next president of Nigeria, the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello, has revealed the qualities of who would become President Buhari’s successor.

The Cable reported that the governor said the APC would produce a president in 2023 that would unify the country.

Bello when speaking Channels TV on Thursday, November 20, said the PDP’s ambition to take back power is a “lofty dream” and ”castles in the air.”

Our governors is our problem in this country. Buhari gave you covid 19 palliatives to distribute to citizens and our governors went ahead to store the food items. The only mistake Buhari made during the covid 19 he should have gave Nigerian money through BVN instead of giving our governors covid 19 palliative. The same governors spoil Jonathan regime. Our reserve they share it and pockets the money instead of helping the poor Nigerian. People are suffering in this country. Our major problem is our governors.
