Many Feared Dead As Petrol Tanker, Bus Collide In Anambra

Many persons were feared dead on Sunday evening in an Anambra auto crash involving a bus and fuel tanker.


 
The accident occurred at Nkwere junction, near Onitsha, on Enugu-Onitsha Expressway reports the Punch.

A source said the accident occurred around 6.30 pm.

The Anambra State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps, Andrew Kumapayi, confirmed the incident.


 
He said, “A fatal crash involving a bus belonging to CDO transport company occurred this evening, at Nkwere junction, along Onitsha-Awka expressway.

“FRSC rescue team from Nteje Unit has been mobilised to be at the scene.”


The number of casualties could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report.

  Amid threats of sanction from the Federal Government over its investigative report on the shootings at Lekki toll plaza during the #EndSARS protests, CNN has released a second report on the incident. The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had last week described CNN’s report on the Lekki shootings as poor journalism, adding that the network deserved to be sanctioned.
